KAN-WIN seeks to educate and outreach to the Korean American and wider community about violence in relation to power dynamics and as an accepted form of social behavior. In challenging societal and cultural norms, we seek to provide information about alternatives to violence towards long-term prevention and the creation of a community-wide response.
Our activities include:
•
Workshops and presentations to high school/college students, church congregations, and the community-at-large.
•
Specialized trainings to social service providers, police officers, and other professionals.
•
Public relations to ensure enhanced and positive media coverage of domestic violence
| •
Development and distribution of multilingual and culturally competent materials about information regarding domestic violence as well as resources available to immigrant survivors.
| •
40-Hour Domestic Violence Training Program
| •
In addition to domestic violence education, we also provide broader educational programs to build safe and healthy communities and to empower women and children focusing on such diverse topics as parenting skills, cultural diversity, communication skills, stress management, etc.
